PROGRAM OVERVIEW
CareersNOW Construction is a job training program designed to help individuals gain valuable knowledge of the construction industry. This class features a five-week training period with four days of instruction per week. Classes are held Monday – Thursday from 6:00 pm – 8:30 PM.
Students can choose from a variety of trades and career paths within the industry and will be connected to employers ready to hire.

- The course will take 5 weeks to complete.

The Careers NOW Construction course is composed of five training modules designed to encourage and challenge students as they pursue careers that fit their skill set and that are integral in helping them secure a successful career in the construction industry.
Module 1:
Focuses on teaching students essential career enhancing skills: how to build a strong character, exemplary work ethic, and ways to make themselves highly valued by their employer.
Module 2:
Concentrates on teaching basic construction concepts and is designed to give students a broad introduction to the construction industry. It is structured to help students find just the right fit between their skill set and a career in construction.
Module 3:
Features a ten hour online OSHA Construction Certification Course, which is necessary for working in the construction industry.
Module 4:
Is a supervised, Hands-on Construction Skill Workshop, to give students real life exposure to working together with other students with power tools to build a prototype wall with drywall, water lines, electrical service, a window, and an entry.
Module 5:
Is a set of two lessons designed to give the successful student time to create a current resume, using a standard resume template. It also provides timely coaching on preparing for job interviews and connecting with prospective employers.

Module 5: Finalize Resumes, Mock Interviews, and Connection to Career Opportunities

Graduation: A Celebration of the accomplishments of students who have completed the course
